This column is dedicated to recording translation errors, or suspected translation errors, in the Chinese translations of the Bible. We welcome brothers and sisters to leave messages here or send us an email (shifengyesu@gmail.com) when you find these translational problems, and we will edit and compile the problems you have noticed together. We do so together for future reference when the translators update the Bible translations or retranslate the Bible, and when the pastors, brothers, and sisters study the Bible.

和合本 The Chinese Union Version (CUV)

王下23:29 约西亚年间，埃及王法老尼哥上到伯拉河，攻击亚述王。约西亚王去抵挡他。埃及王遇见约西亚在米吉多，就杀了他。

ESV版本没有“攻击”的意思，“Neco king of Egypt went up to the king of Assyria”.

NIV不仅没有“攻击”，相反是“帮助”。 “Neco king of Egypt went up to the Euphrates River to help the king of Assyria”。

当代圣经译本、现代中文译本都翻译为 “帮助” 或 “援助”。

诗篇10:17 耶和华阿，谦卑人的心愿，你早已知道。你必预备他们的心，也必侧耳听他们的祈求。

问题：在 ESV、NIV、现代中文译本、当代中文译本中，这个词分别是用 “strengthen”, “encourage”, “赐勇气”, “安慰”。相比之下，“预备”是一个偏中性的词，没有加力量、勇气或安慰的意思。

以西结书39:26 他们在本地安然居住，无人惊吓，是我将他们从万民中领回，从仇敌之地召来。我在许多国的民眼前，在他们身上显为圣的时候，他们要担当自己的羞辱、和干犯我的一切罪。

问题：ESV、NIV 和 当代圣经译本 在此处的意思不是担当，而是忘记：他们要忘记自己的羞辱、和干犯我的一切罪。

“They shall forget their shame and all the treachery they have practiced against me, when they dwell securely in their land with none to make them afraid” (ESV)

“They will forget their shame and all the unfaithfulness they showed toward me when they lived in safety in their land with no one to make them afraid.” (NIV)

“当他们在故土安居，没有人来威胁他们的时候，他们就会忘记自己所有的羞辱和得罪我的恶事” （当代圣经译本）

但以理书2:8 王回答说：我准知道你们是故意迟延，因为你们知道那梦我已经忘了。

问题：ESV、NIV 和 现代中文译本的表述基本一致，都是 “因为你们知道我已经定意” 的意思。

“The king answered and said, ‘I know with certainty that you are trying to gain time, because you see that the word from me is firm.‘” (ESV)

“Then the king answered, ‘I am certain that you are trying to gain time, because you realize that this is what I have firmly decided.‘” (NIV)

马太福音11:12 施洗约翰的时候到如今，天国是努力进入的，努力的人就得着了。

问题：ESV, NASB, NIrV, NIV, 新译本都是在表达“天国遭受暴力攻击，强暴者要夺走它”。

From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and the violent take it by force. (Matthew11:12 ESV)
And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has been treated violently, and violent men take it by force.(Matthew11:12 NASB)
Since the days of John the Baptist, the kingdom of heaven has been under attack. And violent people are taking hold of it. (Matthew11:12 NIrV)
From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been subjected to violence, and violent people have been raiding it.(Matthew11:12 NIV)

当代圣经译本 The Chinese Contemporary Bible (CCB)

约翰4:15 “先生，请你把这种水赐给我，我就不会再渴了，也用不着每天跑这麽远来打水。”

NIV、ESV、 现代中文译本 都没有 “这么远” 这层意思。

但以理书2:8-9 “王勃然大怒说：‘你们都在拖延时间，企图欺骗我，想我遭害。我警告你们：你们若不先将梦告诉我，休想我听你们捏造的解释。’”

问题：当代圣经译本在此处把8和9节放在了一起。ESV, NIV, 和现代中文译本里的 “因为你们知道我已经定意” 这个意思没有出现，反而出现了上诉三个版本和和合本中都没有的 “想我遭害”。

现代中文译本 Today’s Chinese Version (TCV)

以西结书39:26 他们就会忘掉他们因背叛我所受的侮辱。

问题：现代中文译本把所受的侮辱和背叛神的罪理解为因果关系，ESV、NIV 和 当代圣经译本 在此处没有把两者直接理解为因果关系，而是两个并列的事物，即：他们要忘记自己的羞辱、和干犯我的一切罪。
