Face-to-face with Satanism
Sister Grace / 2024-04-22
As I have been spreading the Gospel, I have had the privilege of engaging with individuals from diverse religious backgrounds. My interactions have been meaningful and insightful, resulting in many positive experiences and testimonials. However, it has not been without its challenges, as I have had to contend with spiritual opposition, at times quite intense. I would like to share two recent encounters with Satanists, which serve as a reminder to remain vigilant, prayerful, and discerning, and to equip ourselves with the full armor of God. By doing so, we can resist the cunning tactics of the devil and draw on God’s wisdom and power, both in our evangelism efforts and in our everyday lives.
Three weeks ago I went to the supermarket as usual to preach the Gospel, and suddenly I saw a very attractive young American woman, about 25-30 years old. Her beautiful silky hair, soft and flexible, fell to her waist, like the rolling and gentle waves of the ocean. Feeling drawn to her, I approached her with warmth and introduced myself, complimenting her on her exceptional demeanor. She was polite in turn, but as I began to speak about the love of the Lord Jesus, her expression changed and she hesitated for about half a minute before declaring, through gritted teeth, that she was a Satanist and that I’d never speak to her again if I knew who she was. With that, she turned and left me standing there, feeling stunned and unsure of what to do. As a parting gesture, I called out to her that Jesus still loved her. Looking back on it now, I recall feeling perplexed by the revelation of Satanism, but ultimately letting the encounter pass with a resigned sigh.
Last week, I shared the Gospel with others. With a passionate heart and a desire to foster a comfortable environment for open conversation, I often greet and introduce myself to individuals to put them at ease. During one encounter, I met two young women who appeared to be in their 20s and dressed in black with striking features. In hindsight, one of them wore an upside-down pentagram, which I later learned is a Satanic symbol. I engaged them in conversation about Jesus, but their response was peculiar. One of them gazed at me for a couple of minutes, and then suddenly exclaimed, “We are taught by Satan! Leave now!” I was taken aback and responded by saying, “Jesus still loves you!” My heart was heavy as these young women were unaware of the goodness of the Lord and had chosen to follow Satan. Additionally, I sensed that their hostility towards Christians was genuine and that they were in close proximity to us in our daily lives. Despite their abrupt departure, I remained in the store and continued to seek out others to share the Gospel with.
During a conversation, the owner’s lover approached me in a rage and ordered me to stop sharing the Gospel immediately. The client accused me of making them uncomfortable and threatened to call the police if I continued preaching. I was surprised by this spiritual battle that had begun between us. The devil never relents, and if we don’t resist him, he will come and devour us. Jesus warned us that people would hate us for no reason, just as they hated Him (John 15:18). We must not have any illusions of reconciliation with the devil. If we don’t preach the Gospel, our land will be taken over by our enemies. Of course, the enemies don’t like my Gospel work because it invades their sovereignty. However, I don’t want to quarrel with men because we’re not fighting against flesh, but against the heavenly spiritual demon (Ephesians 6:12).
I was surprised that I encountered this situation in this particular store, as I’ve never experienced this at any other supermarkets. The shopkeeper’s face was full of anger and fear, and I could sense that something was not right. I assured her that I liked the store and did my weekly shopping there, and after about 10 minutes, I saw her from a distance again. I approached her to talk about it, and when we resumed normal conversation, I shared the Lord’s will with her. She expressed her concern about losing customers because of my Gospel work. I reassured her that the Lord would bless her for using her store to preach the Gospel.
Looking back, I realized that the accusers might have been Satanists. This was a real conflict between two camps and not just a movie. Black and white don’t mix, and we shouldn’t expect the world to be good to us. We should also not expect the Satan behind them to change his mind. We must recognize the situation, wake up, and take up arms in one hand and meanwhile work in the other hand like Nehemiah taught his people (Nehemiah 4:17). In the crooked and perverse turmoil of the last days, we must start preparing ourselves, just like the five wise virgins, so that we won’t weep and gnash our teeth when the Lord comes (Matthew 25:30).
There are concerns among some members of the church regarding the growth of Satanism and its potential impact on mankind, particularly with the impending return of the Lord. According to these individuals, Satanism has become increasingly prevalent and active. Personal experiences have reinforced these beliefs. During a church meeting, a pastor noted that the international situation has led to the multiplication of dark forces in the United States, including Satanism. These forces are said to be responsible for carrying out various spells and evils, taking human lives, and contaminating the world created by God. Christians are urged to remain vigilant, pray fervently, and answer God’s call with courage and strength. By spreading the Gospel and equipping themselves with the help of the Holy Spirit, they can become elite soldiers of Christ, ready to face any challenge and meet the Lord’s return.
